Gods, faith, and uncertainty

This article's status describes its scope. See development status for current limits.

The gods are real powers in the setting, but they do not settle every question about its origins.

Power after the Veiling#

Direct bodily divine manifestation ended at the Veiling. Miracles, institutions, saints, dreams, omens, and clergy remain part of religious life. This changes how divine authority enters the world: interpretation, legitimacy, and human institutions matter.

The precedent of Serath#

The Serathi War is the great divine precedent. The deaths of Akar and Hekar, the conflict between Ivara and Calyra, and the road to the Veiling explain the limits and dangers of divine power. The chronology and individual deity articles preserve different perspectives on these events.

The First Silence#

The First Silence marks the obstruction beneath accepted history. Neither mortal scholarship nor divine testimony conclusively answers it. The encyclopedia presents controversy and educated rumor as such, rather than resolving them into an unquestionable creation story.

Ushra#

Ushra, the Void-Mare and Void-Mother, belongs to an extra-canonical Khavari theological crisis. Treating her as an ordinary renamed member of the pantheon misses that place in the setting. Her article is best read alongside the Khavari account and the history of the Voided Zone.
