A first-of-its-kind ambition

An AI Dungeon Master.
Inside a living world.

Bring the imagination of a tabletop session into a first-person RPG. Tell the DM what you want to attempt in your own words. It interprets the current scene, works with your character's abilities, and narrates what actually happens.

Kingdoms and Dust is being built around a live AI Dungeon Master connected to the same people, places, memories, and unfolding history as the rest of the simulation. The goal is the freedom of a human-run campaign at the scale of an autonomous world.

Meet the tabletop Dungeon Master ↗
  1. 01

    Describe your intention.

Ask a question. Describe an approach. Choose how to use a skill or spell. Bring your own words to the scene.

  2. 02

    Resolve it in the world.

Supported actions use your abilities, resources, targets, and the game's rules. Rolls, costs, and consequences matter to the campaign.

  3. 03

    Hear what happened.

The DM responds live and gives the result a voice. Its account follows the actual outcome and the current situation.

Live conversation and supported actions are in development. The range of executable actions continues to grow.

Freeform dialogue & creative problem solving

Your words.
Your approach.

Bring the kind of idea you would try around a tabletop. Investigate something in a ridiculous way. Draw a dangerous secret out of a court insider. Beg a king to please, pretty please, make you a lord.

Type what you want to say or attempt. The person you address has a personality, memories, and interests. Your abilities, the situation, and real rolls shape the outcome. Sometimes your plan works. Sometimes you make everything worse.

Magistrate Malrec Tovan's face above the complete player question, a successful Diplomacy roll of 15 plus 10 against DC 19, and his live reply revealing the chancellor's plot to murder the ruler

Diplomacy · Success · Development encounter

A murder plot comes to light.

A private appeal gets through. Magistrate Malrec Tovan names Chancellor Isabeau Frostmantle and her intended victim, Speaker Tormund Frostmantle. The successful check reveals a real conspiracy in the simulation, giving you a secret that reaches all the way to the crown.

One world. Interlocking systems.

Small events.
Long consequences.

Inside the simulation ↗

A road, a merchant, a treasury, and a throne are connected. A disrupted trade route can put pressure on a realm and create an opportunity for its rivals.

  1. 01

    A caravan is raided.

Goods are lost on a contested road. Trade suffers, whether or not you witnessed the attack.

  2. 02

    A realm feels the loss.

Lost wealth adds to the strain on a faction's treasury, trade health, and stability.

  3. 03

    Rivals see an opening.

A weakened neighbour can change the decisions of another faction, army, or ambitious leader.

  4. 04

You return to a changed world.

The road may have new patrols, the court new priorities, or the border a new threat.

An example of the connected simulation design. Circumstances, people, and competing interests shape the outcome.

Grand strategy, lived in first person

Every border has
people behind it.

Govern a settlement. Build a court. Negotiate an alliance. Muster a host. The food in a granary and the future of a dynasty belong to the same world you explore on foot.

Other powers keep pursuing their ambitions while you make your own way. When you rule, their history becomes your responsibility.
