Dragons
Reference tables contain changeable development values.
The dragon does not negotiate because it must. It negotiates because crushing you would be tedious, and it has eternity to fill.
Dragons are the apex predators of the Unbound Realms, ancient beings of immense power whose territorial claims predate every human civilization. They range from the relatively manageable drakes to ancient wyrms whose mere presence warps the landscape. Wise rulers negotiate with dragons; foolish ones send armies.

Drakes are the most commonly encountered draconic creatures. They lack the intelligence and magical prowess of true dragons but compensate with feral aggression and pack hunting behavior. Desert drakes are a Pasharan variant adapted to arid conditions, capable of burrowing through sand to ambush caravans.
True dragons grow in power throughout their endless lives. A young dragon is already a formidable regional threat; an adult can lay waste to a fortress; an ancient dragon is a strategic-level power whose territory is effectively a sovereign domain. The few ancient dragons known to lair in the Unbound Realms are treated as political entities in their own right.
Linnorms are the primordial serpent-dragons of the Nord-Vast, predating true dragons in the mythic record. They lack wings but fly through sheer magical force, and their death curse ensures that slaying one is never without cost. Nord-Vast saga tradition holds that killing a linnorm is the ultimate proof of heroic worth.
